452 Hajis arrive by first flight

KARACHI, Feb 5: The PIA's post-Haj operation, which began on Thursday, entails a total of 313 flights from Jeddah to five domestic stations. This was announced by a spokesman for the national carrier here on Thursday.

He said the first five post-Haj flights had arrived at Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta from Jeddah on Thursday.

There were 452 Hajis on-broad the first flight that landed at Quaid-i-Azam International Airport on Thursday.

The flights arriving at Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta carried 270 Hajis each whereas the first post-Haj flight to Lahore had 433 Hajis on-board.

The PIA's 31-day post-Haj operation will be bringing back a total of 108,186 Hajis on-board 313 flights from the Holy Land.

There will be 70 flights to Karachi, 55 to Quetta, 58 to Peshawar, 56 to islamabad and 74 to Lahore till March 6.

The PIA's finance director, Arif Majeed, was present at the airport to welcome the Hajis.

The PIA spokesman said complimentary 'Aab-i-Zamzam' in 10-litre cans was being provided to every Haji on arrival. - APP
