Human chain in support of Kashmiris

SIALKOT, Feb 4: Thousands of Kashmiris residing in Sialkot and Narowal will march towards the 220-kilometre Sialkot working boundary and stage a sit-in at bordering village Waince on Thursday to express solidarity with the people in the occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Forum chairman Dr Zahid Ghani Dar will lead the march.

Talking to newsmen later in the day, Dr Zahid said the Kashmiri refugees and people of both Sialkot and Narowal would observe a complete strike to protest Indian terrorism in the occupied Kashmir.

He urged the UNO to ensure implementation of its resolutions and use its influence to pressure India to stop human rights' violation and genocide.

FAISALABAD: Various religio-political parties as well as NGOs are set to observe the day with enthusiasm. A number of rallies, demonstrations and meetings will be held in the city and its adjoining tehsils like Jaranwala, Tandlianwala, Chak Jhumra, Saddar and Samundri.

The religio-political parties have announced that they will demonstrate against the government's policies and stand on Kashmir.

The main protest rally will be taken out from the Iqbal Park under the aegis of the MMA to be led by its provincial leaders, Hafiz Salman Butt, Maulana Yousaf and Yawar Shamsi.

The PML-Q, the PML-N and the PPP have their separate programmes to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir.

SHEIKHUPURA: The Kashmir Solidarity Day will be observed also in Sheikhpura. The day will dawn with prayers in mosques for the liberation of the Kashmiris after which meetings will be held at various places.

BAHAWALPUR: The MMA's local chapter is all set to organize a conference and rally to mark the day. A rally will be taken out from Kashmir (GPO) park to Fowara Chowk. It will be followed by the Kashmir solidarity moot at the chowk. A chain of human hands will be formed at Farid Gate.
