Tajikistan FM meets Musharraf

ISLAMABAD, Jan 31: Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Talbak Nazarov met President General Pervez Musharraf here on Saturday. The foreign minister is on a three-day official visit to Pakistan.

President Musharraf welcomed the assurance given by the visiting dignitary that Tajikistan would not allow Indian military bases on its soil.

During the meeting, the president stressed the need for enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in economic sphere to the mutual advantage of the two countries in the year ahead.

The president also emphasised the need for enhancing effectiveness of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) to help economic integration of the region as envisaged in its charter.-APP
