MIANWALI, Jan 31: A local Jamia Masjid sermonizer, who has earned notoriety for defaming area notables, has made a high school headmaster to tender apology by threatening him to speak against him during Friday sermon.

Abdul Jalil, who delivers sermon at Moti Masjid (central mosque in the district), had to face court trial when he allegedly levelled allegations against District Zakat and Ushr chairman Hameedullah Khan Shermankhel.

Information gleaned by this correspondent on Saturday revealed that a local daily published news about indecent behaviour of Government High School (city) headmaster Muhammad Sher Khan as was alleged by a group of teachers.

The following Friday Abdul Jalil threatened the headmaster that he would speak against him during the sermon allegedly for passing derogatory remarks against his subordinated. It is learnt that the sermonizer's younger brother teaches at the same school.

Fearing slur on reputation, the headmaster sought the help of the teachers' union leaders, including Senior Staff Association Divisional President Muhammad Sher Khan Niazi, to have his name clear of charges.
