Bush to attend 'prayer breakfast'

NEW YORK, Jan 31: Thousands of people drawn from all walks of life representing various religious denominations will attend a National Prayer Breakfast (NPB) meeting on Thursday (Feb 5) in Washington. President George Bush will also be present on the occasion.

The National Prayer Breakfast, held in the ballroom of the Washington Hilton, is a "see and be seen" event for politicians from all parts of the world, including religious leaders. For the last several years, former prime minister Benazir Bhutto has been attending the meeting.

This year Information Minister Shaikh Rashid will attend the NPB. His particiaption has been sponsored by some Pakistani businessmen. A day before the breakfast, envoys and leaders from all over the world will attend a luncheon in Washington.
