KRL scientists: PCHR submits motion to NA

By A Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Jan 28: The Parliamentarians' Commission for Human Rights (PCHR) on Wednesday submitted an adjournment motion to the National Assembly secretariat ondetention of KRL scientists.

In a press statement, PCHR members Mumtaz Matiana, Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Fouzia Wahab and Syed Tahir Shah said detention of the nuclear scientists had created resentment in the country, especially among professionals who now felt insecure.

"Disgracing of nuclear scientists in the name of debriefing is a condemnable act. Media trial of nuclear scientists has spread panic among the common man," they said.

Stressing the need to handle the matter with caution, the PCHR members said the case should be discussed in the parliament so that people could become aware of the truth and taken into confidence by revealing the names of those involved in "leaking nuclear capability" to others.
