ISLAMABAD, Jan 22: The government has ordered setting up of a vigilance committee to resolve the issue of cancellation of plots at Port Qasim Authority and settle its administrative problems.

This was stated by federal communications minister Ahmad Ali at a meeting here on Thursday. The meeting discussed matters regarding communications with the authorities of Port Qasim, Karachi, especially dredging, desalination and other administrative problems.

The minister directed the officers concerned to complete the dredging process on priority basis. A vigilance committee must be formed to look into restoration of cancelled plots of Port Qasim Authority, and administrative problems be sorted out in an amicable manner, he said.

The minister stressed the need for observing transparency in all matters. He said Rs1 billion had been sanctioned for the improvement of important roads of Karachi, like I.I.Chundrigar, Hawksbay, Mycolachi and Maulana Tamizuddin Khan roads. He said efforts were being made to provide best communication facilities to the masses.
