RAWALPINDI, Jan 11: National Bank battered lowly Karachi Port Trust (KPT) by a massive margin of 295 runs on Sunday in their Patron's Cup game at the Rawalpindi Stadium, with paceman Zahid Saeed excelling with six wickets for 23 runs.

In a woefully one-sided Pool 'B' encounter, National Bank, with Kamran Akmal cracking a sparkling 132, amassed 345 for the loss of eight wickets after being put in to bat.

KPT in reply had no answer to the pace of Zahid who bowled to an accurate line and length as did Asad Zarar who picked up three for 25 as their rivals were firmly nailed for just 50 runs in 16.1 overs.

Earlier, Kamran smashed the KPT attack almost at will and struck 18 hits to the ropes in a 124-ball innings. Others doing well with the bat were Sajid Ali who was run out for 43 and Mohammad Javed (48). Adeel Malik was the top wicket-taker with four for 79.
