PESHAWAR, Jan 11: Three men were killed over a land dispute in Kagawala area of Badhber on Sunday. They were said to be members of a jirga convened to settle the land dispute, and were going to attend the jirga.

The police said that on Sunday morning when Naimatullah came out of his residence along with Farooq and Shaukat, they were ambushed by Sherdil and his accomplices. The three died on the spot.

The police after registering an FIR, arrested one of the attackers, namely Liaqat. Police have registered the FIR against, Sherdil and Gulbagh, sons of Purdil; Liaqat and Said Ali, sons of Shamsur Rehman; Naimat, son of Tajur Rehman; Niaz Mohammad, son of Sabz Ali; Murad, son of Mehrdil; Nasir, son of Muzaffar Shah; Turaab Shah and Nadir Shah, sons of Zareef Shah; and Pathan, son of Yaqoob, all residents of Kagawala.

MOVIE-MAKER KILLED: A movie-maker was killed and two others injured in a late night marriage party in Shah Qabool area, police officials told Dawn here on Sunday.

Irshad and Amjad, sons of Khan Zareen, had hired the musical group of Pashto singer Khyial Mohammad for their marriage ceremony on Saturday night to entertain guests.

The people were busy in listening to songs when a guest, Tariq Shah, started exchanging hot words with Irshad and Sajjad, brothers of the bridegrooms, said their nephew Usman Shah who lodged an FIR with the Shah Qabool police station.

Mr Usman claimed that Tariq Shah and his two brothers Hasan Shah and Gohar Ali Shah pulled out their pistols after the dispute on some petty issue and started indiscriminate fire. As a result movie-maker Shehzad was killed on the spot while Tariq Shah and he (Usman) received bullet injuries, he said. But Mohammad Wali, brother of the movie-maker, disputed the claim of Usman and in a counter FIR, saying that the brothers of the bridegrooms had opened fire on Tariq after exchanging hot words.
