100 more ambulances for Edhi

KARACHI, Jan 3: The Edhi Foundation is to add 100 more vehicles to its existing fleet of 700 ambulances operating in the country after receiving a donation of one million dollars.

According to the press release issued by the foundation here on Saturday, the Bilquees Edhi International Relief Foundation in New York has donated the amount to the Edhi Foundation for the purchase of 100 well-equipped ambulances.

It pointed out that the existing fleet of ambulances worked round the clock while the Foundation ran 17 sanctuaries, known as Edhi Homes, across the country.

Besides, it added, the foundation was providing free treatment facility to deserving people at 50 dispensaries, five maternity homes and two cancer hospitals with the assistance from Pakistanis living abroad.
