PESHAWAR: KhUJ given Rs5m

PESHAWAR, Dec 11: NWFP Minister for Information and Public Relations and Chairman of Revenue Reforms Commission Asif Iqbal Daudzai presented a cheque for Rs5 million to the President of Khyber Union of Journalists, Sajjad Haider, here on Thursday.

NWFP Chief Minister had announced creation of an endowment fund at the oath-taking ceremony of the Khyber Union of Journalists and pledged the announce for the same fund.

On the occasion, the information minister said that ways and means to utilize the endowment fund of Rs5 million provided by the NWFP Chief Minister for the journalists welfare would be discussed at a meeting to be convened next week.

He further said that a methodology of the proper utilization of this amount would also be finalized in the forthcoming meeting.
