a KARACHI, Dec 9: An ex-serviceman fired at a man when the latter tried to kidnap the former on Tuesday.

According to the Darakshan police, three armed men tried to kidnap Tariq Shah, a former army major, at a Defence market. The kidnappers drove Mr Shah away in his car (ADP-237). When the car neared the Bilawal House roundabout, two kidnappers got off the car. Mr Shah seized the TT pistol of the remaining kidnapper and fired at him.

In another incident, a police Constable, Jan Mohammad, wounded a man in Malir city on Monday by firing at him with his official weapon.

ARREST: The Korangi police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested an aide of Asif Chotu, the leader of the outlawed Lashkar-i-Jhangvi, in Korangi D Area.
