KARACHI: 388kg charas seized

KARACHI, Dec 8: The Sindh Excise and Taxation Department on Monday foiled an attempt to smuggle out charas and seized about 388kg high quality charas in Baldia Town.

Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation Rauf Siddiqui told newsmen about this at a press conference and appreciated the efforts of the department in carrying out a successful operation.

A team of the Excise and Taxation Department raided a house in Azimabad, Baldia Town, and seized 388kg charas and arrested a man and impounded a car. The narcotics was stored in a house to be smuggled abroad.

The minister terming it a big success in the campaign to make Sindh narcotics free stressed the need for more such successful operations.

“A major improvement has been observed in the performance of the department for the last many months. However, there is still need for improvement to root out this menace from society,” he said. — PPI
