Selection committee members unhappy with Aamir

ISLAMABAD, Dec 4: National cricket team’s chief selector Aamir Sohail has developed serious differences with the members of the selection committee.

Sources in Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that members of selection committee have accused Aamir of naming the team of his own choice.

The sources disclosed that the two members of selection committee have strongly protested against the irresponsible attitude of the chief selector and complained that they were not consulted before the announcement of probables for the current One-day Internationals against New Zealand.

Chairman PCB Lt. Gen. (retd) Tauqir Zia had arranged a meeting of selection committee members two weeks back but only Aamir and one other member of the committee attended that meeting”, sources maintained.

Sources further said that Tauqir was willing to resolve the differences between the members and the chief selector but the members who were also Test cricketers expressed their dissatisfaction over Aamir’s method of working.

National coach Javed Miandad and skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq have also complained that they were not consulted before the announcement of team for the series against Black Caps.—PPI
