KARACHI: At least 17 people, including a four-year-old boy, were wounded when an explosion occurred in the CNG plant of a petrol pump in the Defence Housing Authority, apparently due to some technical fault, on Wednesday.

The police said the explosion took place at around 3:45pm in the CNG plant situated behind the “Select shop”, on the premises of the Shell petrol station in on Khayaban-i-Bharia.

The explosion caused considerable damage to the property.
