KARACHI, Dec 3: Pakistan International Airlines will resume flights to India with an expanded operation after the restoration of air link and operate 12 direct flights a week to New Delhi and Bombay, a PIA spokesman told APP on Wednesday.

Under the expanded operation, he pointed out, there would be no more restrictions on the type of equipment, and thus PIA could fly with additional capacity and bigger aircraft.

According to the spokesman, the aviation experts of the two countries have discussed a possibility for adding a third destination to their existing networks in the two countries. However, a decision on this will be taken at their next meeting.

PIA will now be flying to Colombo, Dhaka and Kathmandu directly after the restoration of the flights.

Operation to Bangkok and Hong Kong will also be resumed.

The spokesman said this expanded operation would give a substantial boost to PIA’s revenues.
