Saudis unearth terror cell

RIYADH, Dec 3: Saudi Arabia authorities announced on Wednesday they had unearthed a major terrorist cell, recovered a huge amount of arms and ammunitions from a hideout, and arrested a wanted terrorist.

The identity of the arrested terrorist would be announced later, the Saudi authorities indicated.

The terrorist cell was reported to have been involved in blowing up the Al-Mohayya residential complex in Riyadh.

Official source indicated that the terrorist was nabbed last Wednesday.

From the hideout, they recovered one SAM-7 missile, 10 RBG-22 systems, 200 hand grenades, rocket-propelled grenade launchers, 890 capsules of electrical explosives and RDX explosives.

Papers, various identity cards, and pamphlets calling for perpetrating terror acts were recovered, it was announced.

“Search operations and investigations are currently underway for nabbing all parties linked with the aforesaid terrorist cell,” said the official source.
