By Our Correspondent

HYDERABAD, Dec 1: Around 201 primary schools are lying closed in the district’s rural areas and the education department is making efforts to make the schools functional.

This was said by the education EDO Manzoor Bhutto at the district council session on Monday while replying to a question. District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman asked the EDO to provide a detailed list of staff, appointed at the schools lying closed, in three days.

Answering a question of Dr Ayaz Arain, the EDO said an inquiry was being conducted into affairs of the Quaidabad Elementary School and action would be taken against its headmistress if found guilty.

ADVISER: The provincial adviser for home affairs, Aftab Ahmed Shaikh, attended a prize distribution ceremony organized by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad, here on Monday.
