ISLAMABAD, Dec 1: The Pakistan Air Force will celebrate centenary of the maiden flight by the first aircraft on December 17.
The Wright Brothers had demonstrated the first flight of their aircraft on December 17, 1903 at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina in the US. No other invention has made such an indelible imprint on this world.
In order to celebrate the historic event, the PAF will be arranging a series of aviation related activities from December 14-21.
The activities include a seminar at the Air Headquarters, Chaklala, on ‘100 years of flight’ on December 17. The event would be presided over by Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali.
The Pakistan Air Force will also be arranging aerobatics display in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. An air show will be held at F-9 (Fatima Jinnah) Park on December 14 at 3pm in which the PAF’s F-16 fighter aircraft, PAF Academy’s Aerobatics Team of T-37s aircraft nicknamed ‘Sherdils’, and K-8 Jet Trainer would display aerobatics.
