KARACHI, Nov 23: Sindh Information Technology Minister Yaqoob Illyas has said that the government has been striving hard for the provision of modern and affordable health facilities to the masses, however, the task was “unachievable” without the help of private sector.
The minister stated this while visiting a local laboratory and x-ray centre on Sunday.
Mr Illyas said that improvement in public sector health department’s performance had been witnessed due to hectic efforts of the provincial government and special attention by the governor. However, he added, there was a lot more to be done in this regard.
He said that the population had increased manifolds during the last few decades and successive governments had been unable to provide basic health facilities to each and every citizen.
In order to serve people of the country, he said, private sector should come forward and make health facilities affordable to everyone.
