Jamali presses for stability, harmony: Situation discussed with Punjab CM

ISLAMABAD, Nov 21: Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali said on Friday that the opposition was not fulfilling its democratic obligations by continuously refusing to shoulder its duties.
Talking to Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi here, the prime minister regretted the fact that the opposition was reluctant to fulfil its democratic obligations.
Mr Pervaiz Elahi, who met Mr Jamali at the Prime Minister’s House, exchanged views on the prevailing political situation and discussed matters pertaining to the ongoing developmental schemes in the province.
The prime minister said the PML and its allies believed in decency and tolerance in politics and they had introduced a new political culture based on these values.
The prime minister expressed the view that stability and continuity of policies were essential prerequisites for ushering in socio-economic development in the country.
The chief minister said the Punjab government would continue to strive for the welfare of the masses.
He also lauded the relief announced by the federal government in power and telephone rates.
