KARACHI, Nov 20: Altaf Hussain, chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement, has stressed the need for understanding the spirit of Quranic message of “Iqra” and act accordingly.

Addressing an Iftar-dinner, organized by the All-Pakistan Mohajir Students Organisation, Mr Hussain regretted that unfortunately it has not been done and the Muslims have been plunged into backwardness by shortsighted clerics and rulers.

Mr Hussain was of the view that as long as feudal, military and mullah axis prevailed, there could be no reform and end to this oppressive system.

He said that even today feudals were not allowing educational institutions to be opened in their areas and mullahs were keeping the people backward by their shortsighted edicts.

He stressed the need for banishing such narrow-minded interpretations of the Quranic message and called upon the APMSO activists to remove the axis of the above mentioned three forces to make Pakistan a prosperous country.

Mr Hussain emphatically declared that Almighty Allah has complete knowledge and awareness of the entire universe. His creative knowledge of the minute details of the whole hemisphere within and outward could be termed education, with supremacy of Allah.

He said Almighty Allah has said that He has placed the entire universe at the disposal of human beings. It is now for them to carry out research, survey on deep study of creation of Allah on the earth and sky, that is true meaning of learning which could not be confined to the frame-work of geography, religion or any other limited philosophy.

Altaf Hussain asked the students to pay full respect to their teachers, parents and elders and asked them not to violate this instruction.
