VANCOUVER (British Columbia), Nov 19: Eastern Europeans broke the records of Chinese women on Tuesday at the World Weightlifting Championships.
The new standards were set in the women’s 63-kilogram class _ the first world records
in five days of the championships.
Hanna Batsiushka, from Belarus, snatched 113.5 kilograms, beating the record of 113 kilograms by Chinese teenager Xiafeng Quiyang at the Asian championships this year.
Natalia Skakun, from Ukraine, made a world record clean and jerk with 138 kilograms. The old mark of 137.5, was set by Xia Liu, from China, at the Asian championships.
