AASCC and Dolphins match tied

KARACHI, Nov 14: The fixture between Asghar Ali Shah CC (AASCC) and Baqai Dolphins ended in a thrilling tie in the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan Festival cricket league played on Saturday at the Aga Khan Gymkhana ground.

Winning the toss and batting first, Asghar Ali Shah CC scored 175 runs for the loss of six wickets in 22 overs, with Irfanullah unbeaten with 71 runs, laced with five boundaries and two sixes, Shujat Ali (47) and Kamran Hussain (30) among the runs. Yousuf Ahmed bagged three for 33 and Tariq Rasheed two for 47 for Baqai Dolphins.

Chasing 176 runs for victory, Baqai Dolphins lost their eighth wicket in the last ball of the match having reached 175 for eight in their 22 overs to tie the encounter.

Tariq Rasheed slammed 60 runs which included four fours and two sixes, Mohammad Naveed Khan (50) and Imranullah (33), but this was not enough to see Baqai Dolphins squeeze through to victory.

Khalid Butt three for 42, Turab Hussain two for 25, and Aamir Rizwan two for 33, were instrumental in their team’s tied game.

Saturday’s fixture: Pak Gymkhana v Godhra Sports.
