Usman and Agha play key roles

LAHORE, Nov 8: Peek Freans entered the final of the Seasons Canola polo tournament after winning both its matches of two-chukkers each at the LPC Ground on Saturday.

Peek Freans will meet Diamond Paints in the final to be played on Sunday.

Two goals by Agha Bilal and a goal from Usman Hayee enabled Peek to beat Seasons Canola 3-1. For the losers, Faaiz Rahim scored a goal each.

Later Peek Freans qualified for the final defeating Millat Tractors 3-2 in the second match.

The losers ended the first chukker with a 2-1 lead when Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana slammed both goals while Asma Haye reduced the margin for Peek.

Usman struck back to back goals in the second chukker to seal the fate of the match.

Four more matches of two chukkers each were played to decide a team for the subsidiary final.

Agri Mall by winning both its matches qualified for the subsidiary final. Agri beat Data Hybrid Corn 3-1. Zain Khakwani (2) and Ahmad Ali Tiwana (1) were the scorers for Agri.

Umer Sadik scored the solitary goal for Data.

Three goals by Ahmad Ali Tiwana in the second chukker helped Agri beat Nurpur 3-2 1/2.

Earlier, Azam Hayat Noon and Jamal Iftikhar scored a goal in the first chukker for losers who were playing with a half handicap goal.

Seasons Canola defeated Millat Tractors 3- 1 1/2. Agha Murtaza Ali scored two goals for winners while Faaiz Rahim a goal.

For the losers, Ahmad Nawaz Tiwana scored a goal. Half goal was the handicap. Three goals by Jamal Iftikhar and two by Azam Noon helped Nurpur with half goal handicap to crush Data 5 1/2-0.
