ISLAMABAD, Nov 7: The ministry of local government and rural development has clarified a report published in a section of press on November 6, regarding the national development programme.

The press release said, “the name of the development programme is Tameer-e-Pakistan Programme (TPP), whereby it was published as Tameer-e-Watan Programme (TWP).”

“The news item gives an impression as if the allocation of the MNAs under the programme will be increased from the next financial year. The fact is that during 2002-2003 individual MNA’s could recommend development schemes up to Rs5 million.”

During the current financial year 2003-04, their allocation has been enhanced to Rs10 million.
