Students block traffic

KASUR, Nov 3: Students of the Government College for Boys, Khuddian, blocked traffic on the main Khuddian-Kasur Road to protest manhandling of two fellows by a wagon crew here on Monday.

Second-year students Fayyaz and Wajid were going to the college by a wagon when they quarrelled with conductor Aslam over the fare. The wagon crew started beating the students and kicked them out of the vehicle.

Later, some 50 students blocked the Khuddian-Kasur Road and demanded early arrest of the accused.

Police have registered a case against the wagon conductor and are investigating.

DIES ON ROAD: A man was killed while another was injured in a collision between a tractor and a trailer at Khankey Mor, Phool Nagar, on Monday.

Irfan and Abbas were going to Phool Nagar by a tractor when a trailer coming from the opposite side collided with it. Irfan died on the spot, while Abbas sustained injuries.

ABDUCTED: Three people kidnapped a person at Kacha Packa Ganda Singhwala on Monday.

Shafiq along with two accomplices entered the shop of Zulfiqar and kidnapped him.

LOOTED: Dacoits looted cash, gold and valuables from a house in Kot Mehtab Din, Chhanga Manga, on Monday.

Three armed men entered the house of Rahmat Ali and fled after collecting Rs35,000 in cash, gold ornaments and valuables.

CAUGHT: Some 26 shopkeepers and butchers were caught red-handed selling

substandard foodstuff at high rates in Pattoki here on Monday.
