MIRPURKHAS: Flour prices go up

By Our Correspondent

MIRPURKHAS, Nov 3: Wheat flour is being sold on high rate by the mill owners and grocery shops across the district.

It is being sold at Rs11 to 12 per kilogramme in the city, while in villages and small towns at Rs12 to 13 per kilogramme.

The district government has not taken measures to ensure the sale of wheat flour at Rs10 per kilogramme.

Besides, people deplored that wheat flour available in the market was substandard and unfit for human consumption.

SUGARCANE: The sugarcane growers have demanded a legal action against the sugarcane mills under the Sugar Mills Control Act for failing to start the crushing season on Nov 1.

The Sindh Agriculture Growers Development Association president, Rais Ahmed Khan, Sindh Abadgar Board, vice-president, Abdul Ghafoor Mahar, and general secretary Imtiaz Panwhar condemned the indifferent attitude of sugar mills owners towards growers, saying they wanted to buy sugarcane at their will which would cause monetary losses to growers.
