KARACHI: Job quota for disabled to be increased

KARACHI, Nov 3: The quota for the disabled in the government jobs would be increased by three per cent, while decision to this effect would be taken by the provincial cabinet, which is to meet on Nov 8.

This was stated by Sindh Education Minister Irfanullah Khan Marwat, while speaking at the ABSA School for Deaf and Dumb on Monday.

The minister also handed over a letter of gratitude from the Russian government, sent in response to a letter of sympathy by the school’s students in connection with a fire incident in Russia, to the management of the school.

The Russian Counsel General in Karachi said that the letter and gifts sent by the students would create positive feelings among the school children of both the countries.

Mr Marwat announced that the students would be sent on a visit to Russia, which would be sponsored by Sindh government.

The school director informed that the institution was initiated on a small scale, which was

now serving over 400 students.—APP
