KARACHI, Oct 27: Robbers took away more than Rs1 million, besides injuring a man, on Monday, in different areas of the metropolis.
One Saleem Zafar was deprived of Rs500,000 near Naval graveyard at Dalmia Road on Monday.
The police said that unknown armed men intercepted Mr Zafar and deprived him of the cash which he had withdrawn from a bank.
At Shahrae Faisal, a petrol pump cashier was deprived of Rs400,000 by unknown armed men on Monday.
Police said that armed men riding on motorcycle came to the petrol pump, held the cashier at gunpoint and escaped after looting the cash.
In Garden area, Atir Zaheer Khan was deprived of Rs190,000 by armed men.
Police said that Zaheer had withdrawn the cash from a bank and was returning home, when unknown armed men deprived him of the cash.
Meanwhile, a man was injured while resisting a robbery in his house Gulshan-i-Iqbal on Monday.
Police said that armed men barged into the house of Imtiaz Ali Qazi, in Block 15. The inmate tried to pose resistance to the robbers, who shot him and fled.
ACCIDENTS: Three people, including two children, died in separate road accidents in different parts of the city on Monday.
A boy, Nisar Gul, 10, was hit by a speeding motorcycle near the Edhi Centre, Shorab goth.
The victim was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Edhi sources said that the errant motorcyclist escaped from the spot after hitting the boy.
In another accident, a young girl was knocked down by a truck in Itthad town in the limits of Mochko police station.
The police said that Saiba, 10, who was hit by a truck (LSA-8069), was taken to the nearby private hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
DIES: A bagger was knocked down by a speeding motorcycle at Schon Circle on Monday.
Police said that Qalandar Khan, 30, was hit by a speeding motorcycle, he was taken to the JPMC, where he died during treatment.
The errant motorcyclist escaped from the spot, the police added.
ELECTROCUTED: A young girl died of electrocution in Model Colony on Monday.
Police said that Kulsoom, 12, suffered an electric shock in her house from an electric motor.
She was taken to the Jinah Postgraduate Medical Centre where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
SHOT DEAD: A young man was shot dead by unknown armed men in Mochko on Monday.
Police said that Sameen Khan, 22, was sitting outside his house near National Chowk in Itthad Town, Mochko, when unknown persons shot him and fled.
The victim was taken to the nearby private hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, later his body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for the post-mortem examination.
The police suspected that some personal enmity might be the motive behind the killing.
