SIALKOT, Oct 26: The district government has enhanced the 10 percent quota of medicines for all DHQ, THQ hospitals, RHCs and BHUs in the Sialkot district, ensuring free-of-cost medicines to the people of urban and rural areas.
Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, DCO Capt Zahid Saeed (retired) disclosed that the district government had also enhanced 10 percent quota of veterinary medicines in all veterinary hospitals.
He said that a sum of Rs21 million had been allocated for the construction of buildings of all government hospitals in the district.
The district government had also earmarked Rs150 million for the completion of all development schemes at the union council level under the supervision of UC Nazims, women and minority councillors, he added.
RAMAZAN PACKAGE: The district government has finalized the ‘Ramazan package’ in consultation with local traders to provide essential items to the people on subsidized rates.
This was stated by Sialkot District Nazim Mian Naeem Javaid while talking to newsmen here on Sunday.
The district Nazim said that Ramazan bazars would be set up all over the district where official teams would keep a close check on the prices.
He urged the traders to avoid profiteering and give special relief to the people during the holy month of Ramazan.
The ghee mills would also set up their own stalls to provide ghee to buyers on subsidized rates, he added.
DIWALI: The Hindu community celebrated Dewali with traditional zeal and enthusiasm in Sialkot and Narowal districts.
Special prayers were held in temples for the solidarity and prosperity of the country.
The Hindus lighted the traditional lamps and distributed sweets and gifts among their own community, the Muslims, the Sikhs and the Christians.
