PESHAWAR, Oct 26: The standing committee of the NWFP Assembly on interior and tribal affairs on Sunday reviewed the law and order situation in the province.

The meeting, held at the assembly secretariat under the chairmanship of MPA Bashir Ahmad Bilour, was also attended by provincial secretary interior, IGP and high officials.

The committee meeting specially reviewed the security arrangements at public places in the month of Ramazan. It also discussed protection of women engaged in shopping during the holy month.

The committee members observed that traffic rush during the month increases in the afternoon and therefore the department concerned should take appropriate measures to ease its flow.

Similarly, the police should ensure its presence at sale points of flour under Ramazan package to pre-empt any untoward happening.

In the meeting, the secretary interior and IGP gave detailed briefing on the law and order situation in the province.

The law enforcers have been specially directed to be efficient in the month of Ramazan, they added. —APP
