KARACHI, Oct 9: Unidentified persons killed a watchman in Gulistan-i-Jauhar on Thursday.

Police said that Meena Gul, 35, a watchman at an under construction building located in Block-12 of the Sindh Balochistan Society in Gulistan-i-Jauhar was shot dead by unknown persons on Thursday morning. The attackers escaped after opening fire, police said.

The victim’s body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem examination. The victim suffered a bullet wound in the head.

Police described the incident a probable result of some personal enmity.

In Korangi Industrial Area, an unidentified bandit was shot dead by some private security guards on Thursday.

Police said that a factory owner, Mian Abid Husain, was intercepted by armed men while he was returning from a bank after drawing cash. On his resistance, the armed men shot and wounded him. The private security guards, who were escorting Mr Husain, retaliated the fire and killed one of the bandits, while his accomplices managed to escape.

Mr Husain was shifted to the private hospital where he was admitted for treatment. Later, police shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for post-mortem examination.

BODY FOUND: The body of a young man was found from the Frere garden on Thursday.

Police said that the man later identified as Irfan, 28, was a driver. His body was found lying on a bench in the Frere garden. Police shifted the body to JPMC for post-mortem examination.

ACCIDENTS: A six-year-old boy died in a road accident in Site on Thursday.

Police said that Shahid Khan was playing in Pathan Colony when a speeding truck (JT-7935) knocked him down. The driver escaped following the accident. However, police claimed to have impounded the vehicle.

A speeding bus (JA-6803) of route (4-L) knocked down a young man, Zahid Husain, 28, on M.A. Jinnah Road near Denso Hall. His body was shifted to the Civil Hospital.
