LAHORE, Oct 6: Fancied bay colt Amazing lived upto his star billing when scoring an easy victory in the Muhammad Tughlaq Cup run over 1200 metres during the Lahore Winter Meeting on Monday.

Ridden by Shahzad Iqbal the 70 to 100 favourite, Amazing beat Beena Roy Baby by over four lengths with Puma King, a further length away in third place. Weldon Shogun completed the frame. Owned by Zaheer Aslam Amazing is trained by I. Nawab.

Amazing put up a far more improved performance simply brushing aside mediocre challenge from his 16 rivals in the feature and fifth event of the day. Earlier Arizona was withdrawn.

Bay imported filly Kowalska in a brilliant debut performance won the supporting and sixth event run over 1400 metres. The filly trained by Haji Fazal Hadi was given a splendid waiting style ride by Shahid Rehman.

 Backed at half-money favourite Kowalska beat Ponchi by two-and-a-half lengths. Moment To Moment and Royal Seal completed the board among ten runners left in after the last-minute withdrawal of Happy boy, who had developed a tendon trouble.

Rank outsider Lot Of Thanks caused the biggest surprise of the day capturing the second race on the finishing post. He spared a neck over fancied The Assassin running infront as the heads turned towards the straight.

Trainer I. Nawab stole the limelights when he sent out a brace of winners. He first saddled four to one chance Much Pleasure in the third race and then favourite Amazing in the fifth and feature event.

Only three favourites obliged the punters in a card of seven events. The other four races were bagged by either neglected mounts or long shots.
