MMA men denied bail

Published October 4, 2003

GUJRANWALA, Oct 3: The Anti-Terrorism Court rejected bail applications of two more MMA activists in a circus firing case and issued their non-bailable arrest warrants here on Friday.

The Sabzi Mandi police had booked around 200 MMA activists, including MNA Maulana Qazi Hamidullah and JI district senior vice-president and Wahdat Colony union council Nazim Hafiz Hamiduddin Awan a few months ago. However, they got their bails from court.

Judge Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah had dismissed the bail of Hafiz Hamiduddin Awan two days ago. On Friday, the judge also rejected the bails of JUI’s two activists Babar Rizwan and Hafiz Muhammad Abbas when they did not appear before court.

The judge directed the police to arrest the accused and produce them before court on next hearing. — Correspondent
