KARACHI, Oct 2: Four ships carrying raw jute and soyabean meal are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where five ships, Kota Intan, Kota Berjaya, PONL Mahe, Al-Wajba and Lt. Grand were berthed to unload and load containers.

Three ships, Kota Intan, APL Shanghai and Global Prosperity departed on Thursday, while Al-Wajba, Da Qing-455, Estella, Kota Berjaya, Mercs Kirinda, Lt. Grand, Orient Stride, Hyundai Future and Bunga Masdua are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where the total tonnage rose to 98,392 tons comprising 26,302 tons of export cargo and 72,090 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Friday: Stamatina-Ps, with steel and general cargo, Panos-G, with crude oil, Banglar Kakoli, with 10,448 tons of raw jute and Albatros, with, 5,000 tons of soyabean meal.

KARACHI, Oct 2: Three ships scheduled to load/offload containers and chemicals were allotted berths at QICT and Multipurpose Terminal during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday.

Berth occupancy remained on the higher side as six ships, Aurora, Maersk Avon, Kaede, Sea Dream, Tzini and Ermis were busy in loading/offloading containers, chemicals and coal.

Cargo handling activity remained brisk totalling 56,509 tons comprising 40,767 tons of import cargo and 15,742 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailings were also active as four ships, Armour-I, Bum-Ju, CMA CGM Chardin and Ermis sailed out, while Kaede, Aurora and Maersk Avon were due to depart.

Three vessels, Fu-Le, Iran Eshraghi and Socotra were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.

Two containers ships, New Marry and Ville De Mars are due to arrive at the port on Friday.
