Karachi Port operations
KARACHI, Oct 2: Three ships scheduled to load/offload containers and chemicals were allotted berths at QICT and Multipurpose Terminal during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday. Berth occupancy remained on the higher side as six ships, Aurora, Maersk Avon, Kaede, Sea Dream, Tzini and Ermis were busy in loading/offloading containers, chemicals and coal. Cargo handling activity remained brisk totalling 56,509 tons comprising 40,767 tons of import cargo and 15,742 tons of export tonnage was handled. Sailings were also active as four ships, Armour-I, Bum-Ju, CMA CGM Chardin and Ermis sailed out, while Kaede, Aurora and Maersk Avon were due to depart. Three vessels, Fu-Le, Iran Eshraghi and Socotra were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage. Two containers ships, New Marry and Ville De Mars are due to arrive at the port on Friday.
