KARACHI: Edward Said’s death mourned

KARACHI, Oct 1: Israel has been committing gross violations of the international law and the construction of wall around it is the most recent violation in this connection.

This was stated in a resolution adopted unanimously at a gathering, organized by International Relations department of Karachi University, to mourn the death of Edward W. Said on Wednesday.

The resolution stated that the demise of Edward Said had been a great loss for the whole world in general and for the Palestinians in particular. “Israel should immediately stop building this wall since it severely damaged the prospect of peace in the Middle East,” it added.

Another resolution adopted on the occasion stated that Palestinians had been struggling for their rights. “All peace loving people of the world would support Palestinian struggle against the oppressive rule of Israel,” it stated.

The participants said that Edward Said always resisted the inhuman policies of Israel. —APP
