Punjab names TT teams

LAHORE, Sept 29: Punjab has announced its two men and women teams, which will participate in the 43rd national table tennis championship to be held at Rahimyar Khan from Oct 3 to 8.

The teams were selected after holding trials at the National Sports Training and Coaching Centre, the other day, a spokesman of Punjab body said on Monday. There were 40 men and 32 ladies who appeared in the trials, he said.

The selection committee headed by Mohammad Riaz Chaudhary selected the following teams:

Ladies. Punjab Reds: Sadia (Rawalpindi), Rabia (Jhang), Nabila (Faisalabad), Iffat (Sargodha).

Punjab Blues: Sidra (Sahiwal), Sadia (Sahiwal), Shazia (Rawalpindi), Yasmin (Lahore).

Men. Punjab Reds: Rashid (Jhang), Farooq (Rawalpindi), Mashood (Sargodha), Muzzamil (Sahiwal).

Punjab Blues: Ali Nasir (Sargodha), Shujaat (Faisalabad), Rehan Qureshi (Lahore), Moiz Ali Asif (Faisalabad).
