Enmity claims two lives

SUKKUR, Sept 27: Two villagers, Gul Bahar Shaikh, 22, and Hub Ali Shaikh, 30, were shot dead in Lal Bukhsh Kokhar Goth near Gullo Sial, Khairpur district on Saturday.

As they were loading their tractor trolley, some armed men appeared on the scene and opened fire at them.

As a result, they died.

An old enmity is said to be the cause of the double murder.

KILLED: The police killed an alleged bandit in an encounter in Risaldar, Jacobabad district on Friday.

According to the Risaldar police, they received an information that some bandits were hiding near the Government High School of the town.

A police party cordoned the area.

Sensing the danger, the bandits opened fire on the police which was returned.

As a result, a bandit, Ameer Bukhsh alias Miroo Bugti, was killed and his accomplices fled.

The police recovered a gun and cartridges from the possession of the killed bandit.

SMUGGLED GOODS: The Customs have seized smuggled goods worth Rs1700,000 in three different raids on Friday.

The customs intelligence raided a Quetta-bound passenger bus (BSA-072) on the by-pass and found smuggled goods, including Indian gutka, locks, soap and other items, worth Rs643,000.

No one owned the goods out of 45 passengers of the bus.

In another incident, the Customs officials raided a Karachi- bound passenger bus (PN-6433) and recovered 3605 meters of smuggled clothe worth Rs216,000. The clothe was booked in the names of Muzaffar and Abdul Ghani of Hyderabad.

In yet another incident, the customs intelligence raided a Karachi-bound truck (LHJ-3424) and seized Indian gutka worth Rs845,000 which was booked in the names of Abdul Hameed, Sunni Jamdad and Faiz General Store of Shahdadpur.

MEDICAL CAMP: The People’s Party Parliamentarians MNA, Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah and Rohri Taluka Nazim Syed Qasim Ali Shah inaugurated a free medical camp on Saturday at the Ghulam Shabbir Shah Rizvi Rural Health Centre, Trighatti, on Saturday.

EDO (health) Dr Ashfaq Piracha announced extension of the medical camp till Sept 29.
