SUKKUR: Charas haul; two arrested

SUKKUR, Sept 25: Sukkur police arrested two smugglers and recovered from their possession 800kg of fine quality charas concealed in a house near Kirthar canal on Thursday.

DPO Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh told journalists that the inspector in charge (CRO) received information that a drug den was operating in a house near Kirthar canal and drugs were being supplied to Karachi and other parts of the province.

Acting on the information, he raided the house of Murad Mirani and recovered 800kg of charas. The price of the contraband in the international market is said to be Rs8 billion.

The DPO said two persons, Murad Mirani and Mithal Jatoi were arrested from the house and were being interrogated.
