PESHAWAR, Sept 17: The provincial government has accepted four main demands of the All Class-IV Government Employees (Education Department) Association.

The association leaders had earlier threatened to stage collective self-immolation on Sept 28, if their main demands were not accepted before the deadline.

According to a press release, issued by the association here on Wednesday, the NWFP government had given Rs300 raise to the fixed salaried employees from July 2003; fixed eight hours as duty time for guards; agreed to recruit relatives of employees in case of their retirement or death; and grant of age relaxation to the government employees, if they joined education department.

The association demanded of the government to end fixed- salary system and give all those benefit to the class-IV employees being enjoyed by the regular employees. The ACGEA asked the Nazims to direct their district education officers (DEOs) to issue notification in this regard.
