Raza-Anwar clinch Super Bowl

KARACHI, Sept 15: Superb performance by Raza Naqvi-Anwar Kamal helped them to clinch the Super Bowl Bridge Championship at Aslam Memorial Hall on Sunday.

Playing from East-West Direction Raza-Anwar pair mustered a handsome score of 63.40 percent to emerge winner. Masood Mazhar- Zaeem Lutfi finished runner-up 60.68%.

Pervaiz Mirza and Tariq Rasheed collected 59 percent to take top spot from North-South Direction with Sarfraz Khan and Tehsin Gheewala finishing second with 57%.

Pakistan Bridge Federation (PBF) hosted the event to honor fancied bridge star Javed Khalid from Islamabad. Javed Khalid represented Pakistan in 11th Bridge Olympiad in Holland.

Former President, Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle East Mazhar Jafri and President, PBF, Rehana Saigol paid tributes to Javed Khalid for his contribution in the car game. He was presented trophy and mementos. The 30 pairs took part in the event.

In Karachi Bridge Association (KBA), the pair of Dr. Ikram and Abdul Ghaffar stood first with the score of 62.58% in the Green House.

In the Green House Dr. Quddos and Shabbir Hasan occupied second berth with a score of 57% , Mrs. Rubina Hai and Tariq Zafar finished third with 54%.

In the other house, Ziaullah Baig- Hamid Mohiuddin won with 59.32, followed by EFU’s pairs. Hasan Sajjad-Zafar Zaki 58.73 and S.M. Ozair-Mazhar Ali Khan scored 58.23%.—APP
