Ex-serviceman shot dead

GUJRANWALA, Sept 15: A retired army subedar was kidnapped and shot dead by his former employee here on Monday.

Ghulam Raza, the son of an army officer, was employed at the hardware shop of Muhammad Ramzan. The owner fired Raza when he stole something from his shop. Raza could not pocket his insult, kidnapped Ramzan from his house in Cantonment and took him away to Kunjah, Gujrat. Later, he shot him to death and threw his body to nearby fields. The deceased was the father of lawyer Rubina Chaudhry.

HOAX: A hoax about the presence of illegal arms spread panic in the Central Jail here on Monday.

The jail authorities received an information that a huge quantity of illegal arms had been collected by two groups of prisoners reportedly for a clash. The authorities informed the high-ups, and DIG prisons Abdul Sattar reached there and got searched all prisoners, but no arms were recovered.
