KARACHI: Rehabilitation of addicts urged

KARACHI, Sept 12: Sindh minister for excise and taxation Rauf Siddiqui said on Friday that the provincial government would extend full support to medical centres and organisations working for treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of a centre of Al-Nijat programme for treatment and rehabilitation of addicts, the minister said that proposals presented by social welfare organisations for rehabilitation of drug addicts would be entertained.

He said awareness was developing around the world against the menace of narcotics and various institutions were working to disseminate information about its devastating effects and consequences.

He said that he was struggling to save the future generations from this menace for a better future of the province and the country.—PPI
