KARACHI, Sept 11: The 55th death anniversary of the Father of the Nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was observed on Thursday with solemnity and reverence and with the renewal of a pledge to serve the country in accordance with the wishes of the Founder of Pakistan.
The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for the progress and prosperity of the country.
Quran Khawani was also held for “Isal-i-Sawab” to the soul of the Quaid-i-Azam.
Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan, along with the provincial chief minister, Sardar Ali Mohammad Khan Mahar, his cabinet members and advisers visited the mausoleum of the Father of the Nation and laid floral wreaths and offered Fateha.
On the occasion, they vowed to continue to work for the progress and prosperity of the country in accordance with the wishes of the Quaid-i-Azam.
The representatives of the three services also visited the Mazar and laid floral wreaths and offered Fateha.
People from all walks of life, including the political leaders and workers as well as the members of social organizations, visited the mazar of the Quaid and offered Fateha and laid floral wreaths.
Various organizations are holding seminars and functions to highlight different aspects of life and achievements of the Quaid who through his inspiring leadership carved out a homeland for the Muslims of sub-continent.
Radio and television channels aired special programmes on the occasion of the death anniversary of the Quaid-i-Azam.
Newspapers brought out special supplements on the occasion of the 55th death anniversary of the Quaid.
