Govt-MMA talks tomorrow

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, Sept 3: The MMA and the government will re-open their dialogue on the LFO at the residence of Senator S.M. Zafar here on Friday.

According to MMA deputy secretary-general Liaquat Baloch, the government team is likely to submit its reply on the proposed constitutional package in the meeting as it had sought one week’s time from the religious parties alliance for the purpose at the last meeting.

Asked why the MMA accepted to resume the talks process after it announced that the dialogue period was over, he said it was just a pressure tactics as the government had been told in clear terms that the alliance had the option of going to the masses if it did not come up with a result-oriented strategy on the LFO.

He said the MMA would continue talks and protest meetings against the Legal Framework Order side by side.
