KARACHI: Zeeshan Kazmi dismissed

Published September 4, 2003

KARACHI, Sept 3: Police inspector Zeeshan Kazmi has been dismissed from service with immediate effect as major punishment for his long and wilful absence from duty.

An official handout issued here on Wednesday night said Zeeshan Kazmi had been absent from duty for the last seven years.

He was earlier issued a show-cause notice for his absence. The show-cause notice could not be served on him because he had changed his residence and was not available at his address given in the official record.

He was issued a call notice as well as a final show-cause notice for major punishment of dismissal from service.

The handout said that all these show-cause notices and the call-up notice remained un-served.

It said he was also absconding in the Murtaza murder case. — APP
