Three houses robbed

RAWALPINDI, Sept 1: Two robberies were committed and a house burgled in different parts of the city, police said on Monday.

Azhar Kafeel lodged a complaint with the New Town police that three armed men entered his shop and held him, along with three customers, at gunpoint.

The robbers, who appeared to be in their 30s, snatched Rs10,000 from Niaz Ahmed, Rs6,000 and a mobile telephone set from Mohammad Suleiman, Rs7,800 and mobile telephone set from Raghib and Rs40,000 in cash and calling cards, valued at Rs60,000, from Kafeel. The culprits escaped after locking the robbery victims inside the shop.In another incident, two armed persons deprived a man of his motorcycle.

The robbers intercepted Usman Ali in Satellite Town when he was on his way home on his motorcycle (IDL-6131) and forced him to give up the keys of his vehicle at gunpoint. They then escaped with the motorcycle.

Meanwhile, Malik Abdul Hameed told City police that some burglars broke into his house in the absence of his family and decamped with gold ornaments weighing 80 tolas.

VEHICLE STOLEN: Mohammad Banaras lodged a complaint with the Cantonment police that his motorbike (IDJ-5356) was stolen from in front of Mall Plaza, Saddar.
