KARACHI, Aug 28: The National Environmental Action Plan Support Programme on Thursday completed its two-day-long orientation-cum-training workshop for government and non- government organizations in Sindh here at a local hotel.

It was part of a series of capacity-building workshops launched by the UNDP/NEAP-SP at national and provincial levels.

The objective of the workshop was to mobilize stakeholders’ output for the implementation of NEAP-SP, a national programme contributing to the achievement of objectives of environment management and poverty reduction.

The development objectives of one of its sub-programmes, grassroots initiatives, were to provide assistance to the NGOs/CBOs to implement micro-level innovative environmental projects focusing on localized poverty reduction. It has already provided support to six small NGOs.—APP
