SANGHAR, Aug 26: Cotton ginners will not deduct 1kg Phutti per 40kgs and charge Rs6 as excise till it is notified by the secretary for agriculture.

This was decided at a meeting of cotton ginners and growers held on Tuesday at the DCO office.

The growers also agreed to provide clean Phutti (raw cotton).

DCO Allah Dino Shar, who presided over the meeting, said the decisions would be implemented in letter and spirit.

He further said the excise duty, according to the Cotton Control Act, was to be charged from purchaser.

He said charges for the current season would be decided after the secretary for agriculture issued a notification.
